Postman is 63 today.What has been rattling around my head is that my dad was dead and buried at 62.Now i am not saying i am for the knackers yard yet.But it has got me thinking how young he was,he did seem ancient.But knowing how i feel today and how fit i am it seems so unfair that he went so early.
But he grew up in during the 20's and 30's.He was raised in South Yorkshire by his dad his mother having died when he was eight.
Life was hard and food was basic lots of fat and grease.His lifestyle brought on the heart attack.Hard work killed him,he worked for himself as a decorator,no six week holidays or sick pay for him.No duvet days either.
Seems so sad knowing that he was so young.
Anyway i am going to have a good day going out for a coffee and a bit of cake soon.
Great gifts series eleven of MASH and series 5 vol 1 and vol 2 of Allo allo,so lots of laughter to come during the next few months.And £25 from my in laws.I will waste this on cycling bits and bobs.
