I have an old monitor that I have lost the power supply for. I want to get it working as cheaply as possible, but being a bit of an electrical numpty I,m struggling to identify what I need. Would this work?

Any other, cheaper, solutions?

Thanks.

It may work but it is notoriously difficult to get exactly the right size plug socket and it is very annoying to have a connector which keeps falling out or won't fit at all.

Basically there are three options I would take.

1) Buy the proper adaptor.

2) Get any 24V supply that supplies at least 1.2A. Cut the end off, unscrew the back of the monitor, and attach the wires directly to the monitor power wires with chocbox or crimped connections.

3) Buy a new monitor.

I would go with (2) but only because I inevitably have a 24V power supply in the loft somewhere.

all ending within the next 2 hours, all with 'no bids'. All you need to do is put your postcode in and specify 'within 5 miles'

and if there isn't one right now that you fancy 'save this search' and then look at the emails you get till one comes up that you do like the look of.

OK, I've bought a monitor for 99p (thanks @swee'pea99 ), connected it to an Apple Powermac G4. and am getting this screen:

Pressing any number of buttons on the keyboard doesn't do anything. Is it beyond help or am I missing something obvious?
It's not the screen that's the problem, it's just displaying what the computer tells it to.

How long is it since you used it?
Yes, I appreciate the problem is with the computer. It's literally years since it's been used (10 years + probably). I'm not at all familiar with Apple computers - I assume it should automatically go to a start up screen of some description? I was wondering if there's an Apple 'trick' to prompt it to do so?

You have a 15 year old Apple computer? Don't tell Apple, they'll send thugs around to kneecap you, for not observing their planned obsolescence rules.
