Primera Cycles - any good?

I thought I'd try out Primera-Sports online as they had a 20% off voucher the other week. Anyway, sent an item back which tracking said arrived 1 week ago. No refund, no reply to emails. Is this typical of the company or an unfortunate first experience?

These guys are my LBS and although I've never dealt with them online I find them great in person. I'd be tempted to give them a call as I've always found them good with ordering bits for me and any refunds.

Yeap, that''s them alright.

I don't rate them well..... I once ordered a specific pair of shorts, when the call came I asked if they had what I had requested and the reply was along the lines "sure, we got a few for you to try. We'll make sure we sort you with a pair." I said to my wife, I don't think they have the shorts but they want to flog me something else :-) my wife said, give them a chance. I was right, they had a few pairs but not the one I had asked for.

Their prices are not brilliant either so I still prefer Ribble, Wiggle, CRC, etc

oh dear - will not rush out to buy there again then - the item was fairly valuable so I'ma little nevoius now - I'm sure it will be processed sooner or later - at least I have the tracking to prove they received it.
Although I've had a few problems with Wiggle and CRC, they are still my favs, and I have placed a large number of orders with them over the years so they only mess up about 2% of the time! Not convinced about Ribble though - had a horrendous experience with them about 5 years ago and haven't ordered much from them since!

I had never heard anything particularly bad being said about Primera on the web so had no reservations about ordering from them. However, companies that just ignore e-mails really bug me. And companies that take ages to issue refunds also bug me - combined it's a big NO NO for future orders.

I use these guys. I orderd a bb from wiggle, paid for next day del and took 10 days to get to me. Mate told me to try primera, I did and find them awesome. popped into their bournemouth store about 6 months back and now I don't shop anywhere else. must say the guys are very helpful in there and they have shed loads of stock. well worth a visit.

Living in Bournemouth these are my LBS too. Never had any problems, always really chatty and helpful when you get in, and really know their stuff.

Haven't dealt with them online, and as others have said, they are a bit pricey but the stock is great quality. I'd guess their focus is on in-store customers as they are always really busy when i pop in, so the experience may differ.

I know its an old thread but ordered online with them, got a email reply and then an email with a tracking number.

Everything went fine.
