Does anyone have any recommendations for a bottle cage that will carry the Primus 1.5 liter bottle. The specs for the bottle say it is 3.5 inches in diameter, which is too big for a standard water bottle cage. I found something called the Bike Buddy (UK), which looks great, but it's not available here in the US, I believe.

Thank you!

These are 9cm outside diameter & adjustable length designed for 1.5ltr pet bottles , quite snug in bike frames but find mine ideal for extra water.

Thank you billflat12! I just ordered one. If it works, I'll get another. They will be mounted on the forks (one left, one right) of my Surly Troll, so inside the triangle is not an issue. I went to the store and measured a 1.5-liter PET bottle. Yes, 3 1/2 inches. Thanks again!

I haven't had a great experience with the Topeak Modula XL cage and hence prefer the BBB XL Fuel Tank which BTW survived 3,000 km on my Chasing the Dirt tour last year.

If you're using that sort of size bottle it's worth getting a little velcro strap for extra support and security - although the BBB one looks pretty secure.

You've got to have something in reserve to drink if you run out of water.

3.0 litres of petrol .............. blimey. You are going to need some of those highly flammable warning signs on the back of your bike. Don't forget fuel gives off vapour especially if very warm which can ignite if you or those around you are not suitably careful.
