So, I acquired from someone's shed ( just saving it from the scrap man) this Dawes Easystreet.... Know nothing about it apart from the fact its rough, made from gas pipe, and looks for all the world with a bit (lot) of fettling like my new/old winter commuter.
Freewheel is stuck ie wheel drags gears round with it, plus other bits as you can no doubt see, but I just couldn't bear to see it scrapped off, even if its not a top of the line model, the name Dawes just drew me!
No fool like an old fool eh? Wish me luck! rough1.jpg

I'd have rescued it too.

I'd be thinking:

For shopping trips, with a trailer.

Snow bike.

ATPete,
Thanks a lot for that Dawes link, I've been looking everywhere for details on this beast, and as fixed says, some full guards, decent brakes, and I'm all set for the winter. The freewheel does not freewheel yet though, (if you know what I mean, drives the crank round on over run) so a strip down and greasing needed!
