So about 1 mile into journey I had just gone up the hill and was building up a good pace on the flat.
2 x Tesco 3w torches were on and batteries fully charged.
So as I go towards a junction I see a SWF in her car waiting to pull out so clever arse in his car behind gives her a flash even though I am too close for her to make it without me braking hard and pulls out. Cue me slamming on brakes and doing a 2 wheel skid towards pavement. Then to top it all SWF then puts her hand up to thank car driver while blanking me for letting her out. As he pulls past me I give him the thumbs up and he blanks me too !

If anyone wants to borrow my Coat let me know as it seems to have turned into Harry Potters cloak of invisibilty and may come in useful !

On the plus side thank god I didn't hit any of the ice around work like 3 of my car driving collegues did.

is called a SMIDSY. (Sorry Mate I Didn't See You).

Yep, the numpties will do it anyway, no matter how visible you are. Sometimes especially because you're on a bicycle and you're supposed to give way to cars. (sarcasm).

Had a bizarre one yesterday when a woman in a Metro was trying to join the dual carriageway south at Patchway in Bristol via a slip road, with me going pretty fast in the inside lane. She saw me alright, just she didn't seem to think she had any other choice but to start joining my lane with me in it! I ended up shoo-ing her back into her sliproad  ... similar to your case, driver with just not enough experience or nous to process what to do in that situation, I guess.

I remember someone on here talking about a taxi driver missing a double decker red London bus and doing a u-turn in front of it. Queue screeching tyres and a scarpering taxi!

A couple of years ago I got missed by a bus driver - he was turning right out of a minor road onto the major road I was travelling along. He was on my right and wanted to go in teh same direction as me. I saw him look behind me, and then forwards and to his right, and completely miss me in between these two looks. I think it's called a scan error or something.

Not that it makes you feel any better but I find that when driving my wife's Toyota Yaris I get loads of pull outs compared to when I'm in my Renault Scenic. It's a snobby thing I think. Along the lines of:- 'I'll pull out infront of the cheap one but not the more expensive one.' So it's not just an anti cycle thing.

Airhorn, quick blast when they start acting like spoilt children.

Surprising how quickly a driver modifies their behaviour if they think a car just bipped them.

Oh! You got there first - I said something like that this morning in another thread.... I hadn't seen your version...
