quandary

I fly into Alicante, Spain on 14th Dec and fly back from Faro, Portugal 10th Jan.

I am deciding whether to take waterproofs or not.

Last year from experience from portugal over christmas, when I flee in i was appararently a typhoon with rain that no waterproofs could protect so I went in hotel for 2 days and sat it out.

My conclusion is in this part of the world if it rains, it really goes for it, so either sit out in tent or hotel, even then it rains rarely.

So should i take my waterproofs. I am leaning towards no, not because of their weight, but the space they take up.

anyone got any advice, particularly if you went to that part of the world, did you take waterproofs?

So the plan is, if it starts to rain while cycling you stop no matter where & put your tent up? or get wet.

If it's any help, in the Malaga region right now its raining, on & off, but not heavy.
Though it has been unsettled lately, rainy days, sometimes heavy with thunder followed by clear sunny days.

At this time of year the weather can do anything.

Take them.. I lived in Spain...when it rains it RAINS and it get's cold as well

I've heard it stays mainly on the plain!

I'd take a small, lightweight rain jacket for showers, and have it rolled up in your rear pocket for easy access.
I wouldn't bother with rain trousers unless it's cold and windy when it's raining.
Leggings should be a good-enough item to wear during showers.

It rained very heavy through the night, then today has been sunny with showers now & again. It would have been a good day for cycling but only if you had waterproofs.

(By the way, Quahog is in southern Spain not USA.)
