How far is your commute guys and what type of roads are they??? main roads, back roads, cycle paths etc etc
Cause for me its a 26 mile round trip on some main roads and a forest section that would be unlit for about 2miles..........i'm just debating whether to still commute at least once a week during the winter weeks, months lol
2.38 miles, 2 trains then 2.68 miles, reverse in evening. mainly urban fringe A roads/ shared cycle track.
Or 2.6 miles 2 trains then 2.68 miles, reverse in evening. mainly urban fringe A roads/ shared cycle track, but with a bit more cycle track
Or 2.38 miles, 2 trains then 2.68 miles, then 2.68 miles then 7 miles . mainly urban fringe A roads/ shared cycle track but the 7 miles busy city roads
Or 2.38 miles, 2 trains then 2.68 miles, . mainly urban fringe A roads/ shared cycle track., then 3 miles of Taff Trail, then 2.38 miles
17 miles there (NW London), 22 miles back (SE London). Big hills on the way in, less so on the way home. I've tried big hills in both directions, but it costs too much in brake pads. I've tried the 22 mile version both ways, but prefer the extra 20 mins in bed.
25 mile round trip, all main roads, mostly on the A666 (yes, I know). Not the nicest route, but it's OK. I try to avoid the back roads, especially in the city, for fear of being mugged. (Probably irrational, but I wear a helmet as well, and that's irrational.)
