I don't know if this is the right place to put such a topic but I thought I'd post it here.

I am looking for user friendly, straight forward accurate route finding/destination apps (or even a sat nav) that has a turn by turn navigation system, or something that just has a simple piece of navigation kit that get's you from A to B. Normally I would ask my friend who's a bicycle courier, however apparently they do not use those type's of technologies and go by "knowledge" of the streets. I know Google maps has a turn by turn navigation system but according to people's reviews it does has it faults route's wise.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated

I find Google Maps's bike routes fine for just getting from A to B except for the fact that it makes no distinction between paved and unpaved paths, which makes a lot of its bike routes impractical for me on my road bike.

Other apps also give you more control over how it creates the route, like choosing how hilly you want the route to be.

The downside IMO is that the apps don't tend to be as well-designed, so can be a bit more hassle to actually use.

FWIW, CycleStreets is the one I use.
