sad news, but he had a good innings, some really tough times as a kid, but got through it, still working into his 90s and well liked, also, like all the greats, il signor armani was a cat person

i've a fair bit of his, wear some most days, will be nipping into the store later for a natter

Does he supply Primark? If so I've had loads of his gear.

There will be an Armani inspired Primark number, out there somewhere Joe!😉

Wasn't he one of those who designed weird stuff, not really worn by Joe public, more in places like Milan, and Paris in its heyday? I'm not into names or fashion, more traditional, quality clothes that are a bit different, but don't make you stand out like a sore thumb!😬

nope, for men it's mostly relaxed/unstructured, high quality construction and materials, excellent customer service

The point is, fashion filters down from catwalk oddities to what ordinary folk buy, you may think designers have little influence on what you wear, but muted down details materials etc make their way into ordinary shops.

Exactly. The guy was a genius. Our resident fashionista not knowing anything about him is wild.

Yes I know about the weird catwalk stuff gradually getting whittled down to look 'normal', but by then it hardly resembles the original pencil drawing on a paper thought/design when it reaches the shop's. For it to be say original Armani, those 20 foot wide trousers etc have to still be a ridiculous 20 foot wide by the time they reach the high street, in my opinion!
