"Racer"

I love the way that non-cyclists call any bike with drop bars a "racer". Several people have recently referred to my go-slow, load-lugging, workhorse of a tourer as a "racer".

Seems like speed's got nowt to do with the shape and weight of the bike. It's all about the handlebars!

Well, what we now call road bikes were originally referred to as 'racers', before hybrids and the like came along, but even so, no excuse for not noting the panniers and comfy geometry
