Raleigh Chiltern steering post

I have a 1991 raleigh 'Chiltern' with a chrome stearing stem/post 22mmx23mmx30mm.
I'd like to increase the reach to 60mm or over to calm the twitchy steering.
As best I can measure, the clamp is 23mm?
Anyone know where I can get an alloy version replacement?

It's a quill type. Best bet would be an adjustable one like this:

But maybe the OP wants to retain the 'vintage' look Martin? Would give him access to a lot more choices in stems though.

Clamp could be 22.2 or 23.8. The former is quite common for steel bars.

Don't worry about the stem diameter being slightly narrower than your existing one. I just used the 'wedge' from mine, there is a visible gap between the stem and the tube but it's still a tight fit.

Measured the clamp again...it's 1'' (25.5mm).
I recon a long stem alloy hybrid type will be what I'm after.
