Hi all,

I'm interested in buying a used 2011 Raleigh Royal, It is too far away to view so this is why I'm asking this question. It is sized 55cm/21.7inches. Now I am 6ft exactly, would it fit me or would it be too small? If anyone is 6ft what size frame do you have?

Many thanks

If it is any help I bought a new Rayleigh Royal 50cm frame back in 2009, it was a bit bigger than a normal 50cm touring frame as it is 12" (30.5cm) from the ground to the centre of the crank then you have to add the 50cm to the centre of the crank to the top of the seat tube to give you your inside leg clearance. So for a 55cm bike that would make it 85.5cm/33.7" from the floor to the top of the seat post. It was a good budget touring bike except the paint work was very soft, I would have thought Raleigh have sorted that glitch out now as they knew it was a problem when I spoke to them, just check for excessive chipping where the chain touches the frame. I'm a small guy and I had to sell it as it was too big, as like you I couldn't try one for size and bought it from the internet

This company [http://www.damianharriscycles.co.uk/sizing.php] sells the Royal and has a sizing chart. look under Road bikes. Easy.

You must realize that this is a frame with a sloping top tube, so traditional sizing is way off. The crucial measure is top tube length.
