There I was planning on going 9 speed eventually.
Chose my shifters (Sunrace downtubers).
Chose my brake levers (Dia-Compe v brake with brown hoods).
Chose my derailleur ( Deore 9spd).

Sorted.

This morning while browsing shiny things it occurred to me..........9 speed cassette. DUH!
Added to my list.

5 mins ago I had another thought...........9 speed chain. DUUUUUUUH!

I swear if my head wasn't biologically attached.

The weather here in Oslo has been exceptionally hot and dry (no rain since the middle end of April and temps. over 25 every day and several days of over 30. The golf course is dry and I haven't seen yellow grass over such a large area since the long hot summer of '76. Which got me thinking/reminiscing.

1976 was the year I spectacularly failed most of my O-levels; the year I had three great holidays (inc. losing my virginity on the Isle of Wight to a girl from Slough - and it had nothing to do with Mars bars!). I made my debut for the town's first X1 and took 5-63 (cricket, for those who don't understand those kind of numbers).

Elton John and Kiki Dee, Four Seasons, Wild Cherry, Hot Chocolate, KC and the Sunshine Band, Peter Frampton, Fleetwood Mac, Steve Miller, ELO, Joan Armatrading, Manfred Mann's Earth Band, Queen, Sailor, Barry White, Donna Summer, The Who and many more songs were played constantly on the radio and on jukeboxes, and are a permanent and instant flashback to that great year.

Unbelievably it's 42 years ago! :eek:

Let the sun shine. :sun::sun::sun:

People who are described as "ruthless"; what is this "ruth" they lack?

Similarly for "gormless" people; what exactly is "gorm"?

I won't bother with "feckless" as it will lead to multiple Fr. Jack Hackett postings.
