This was said to me as I left work last night as it was bucketing down.

I was kitted out to ride my bike home.

The person making the remark was wearing a suit, about to put up a brolly and head to a tube station to board, most likely, an overcrowded carriage full of people in damp clothes.

I said to him, "Rather you than me".

He said, "You may have a point there."

Funny, that. Exactly the same was said to me last night on the way out, looking at the stair rods coming down at the time.
Mind you, I didn't have the witty retort at the ready.

If it's really bucketing down, I'd much rather have a 10 min dash to a convenient train station than a 40 minute walk.

True, I am sure I get home drier if I cycle during a downpour rather than catch the train.

Blimey, do they still have those open wagon third class carriages down there?

I was cycling past a bus whilst it was pissing down. all the people in side looked like they had just been trying to beat a world record for how many wet people can you fit inside a bus.. least to say i had a smile on my face as i love cycling in the rain. i just don't like in the next day when your brakes try to sing.
