Reading Walter Mosley's Known to Evil. Proper noir crime stuff with a social edge. It's the second of his new series after The Long Fall.

I have nearly finished 'The Sportswriter' by Richard Ford.
I'm happy to read about 'someone else's' introspection...good old 'Frank Bascombe'! The next one up will be 'Independence Day' followed by 'The Lay of the Land'
I think it helps because I can identify with some of the sentiments that the character is portraying...

Here's 3 of the best of the books I read last year.. depends on where your head is, and what you're into reading as to which you'd enjoy more..:

"The Media Relations Department of Hizbollah Wishes You A Happy Birthday" by Neil Mac FarQuahar --a real eye-opener

"The Life and Death of Democracy" by John Keane --another eye-opener

"Where Have All The Intellectuals Gone?" by Frank Furedi -- a must read..

Having spent a good chunk of last year travelling, I managed to read more books in 6 months than I'd managed in the preceeding 5 years. Here's a list of the ones I particularly enjoyed:

Sadly, I seem to have got out of the habit. Franzen's Freedom has been sitting on the shelf for several months, gathering dust.

Nearly finished Significant Other: an enjoyable read with a good insight into the life of a domestique in a top team.

I bought my copy in £land - so keep 'em peeled!

I enjoyed that book Dayvo - but only the bits where Victor Hugo Pena got to tell his story.

I thought chunks of it was Matt Randell being a bit pretentious at times. (Don't get me wrong - I enjoyed it)

Anyway - "That rug really tied the room together Dude"
