I bought a set of lights to fit to my partner's hybrid bike - but found that there is no room between the fitted mudguard and the wedge bag. The only solution I can think of is to get a rear light that fits to the loop on the wedge bag.

Can anyone suggest a suitable light for this?

Or any other ideas?

I had the same problem, Luckily, my wedge bag was a topeak one that has the bit of a strap on the back for a topeak ligh to clip on.

I didnt use a topeak light though, I ebayed some cateye lights and used this clip...

It fits most of the cateye lights, you will have to check compatibity

Smart lights are fantastic and the ones I have (R1 and 1/2 Watt) both clip into the Topeak wedge loop.

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
Why not mount the light on the off-side seat stay? I have Topeak bags with loops but find its difficult to position the light - tends to point down somewhat, and also moves around a lot with the bag on bumpy roads. So I use the bag clip for a backup rather than the main light.

On the seatstay would be better than clipped to a wedge bag.
You would be able to adjust it to point backwards on the stay, but on the wedge bag it would point in variable directions depending on what was in the bag. LED lights are pretty directional, so it makes quite a bit of difference in how bright they appear when viewed from a car 100m up the road.
The Smart R1 and 1/2W lights come with a seatstay band as well as a seatpost band.

Which ever you choose............

Drill a small hole in the clip of the light and make a small loop of fishing line or similar. Then loop the line through the hole and to the zip pull of the wedge bag.

This way if the light jars loose then it will dangle from the line and not fall into the road.

Most of the smart range have a clip so I would get some nylon web and sew it on the back of the pack with some fishing line if it doesn't have one all ready.

Failing that shock cord is rather good, take it from an old fleece or buy some from the market.

I use the Cateye clip on a Topeak rack pack.

I find the lights stay on the clip no problem but I have had the clip come out together with the light.

So drill small hole (Dremel is handy) and put a small zip tie through it.

Thanks guys, some really helpful suggestions. I bought two R1s and put one on the bag via the clip. I also bought a cateye clip for future use.
