Plans are afoot for a ride along the Downs Link to Brighton on Sunday week. I'm an early starter so will probably make the seafront by about 0930hrs.
Can anyone recommend an half decent café? I'm likely to be on a stop/go, but could be tempted by a decent full English. Somewhere to leave the bike would be nice too, I don't fancy lugging a D lock 125 miles...

The West Quay Wetherspoons pub in Brighton Marina (East of the pier) if you're that way inclined. (Good brekkie and free hot beverage refills)
Plenty of space to lock up your bike too.

Nice views too

Failing that. there are a good few cafes along Marina Drive on the seafront just east of the pier.

The cafe under the old bandstand on Hove seafront is quite nice if the weathers good to sit outside. Inside I find they have music on that's usually too loud. That said, there's numerous cafes along the seafront walk and all the ones I've tried have been nice. By seafront walk, I mean UNDER the promenade below road level. It's paved all the way between the two piers.

Barnet,
I am desperately trying to think of the cafe the FNRTTC's use when they go to Brighton. It is on the front under the arches just East of the pier on Madiera Drive if I remember correctly. It may be called the Madiera Cafe. I have been there several times on the overnighters. A good breakfast is usually served.

It is the Maderia. Sausages are rank. There are far better.

Another advantage of 'spoons is that if you have the app on your phone, you can sit at an outside table with your bike, order and they'll bring everything to you.

I like that idea. I seem to have adjusted my RwGPS route to take me to the front door so all being well it's where I'll end up at about 1000hrs on Sunday week.

One of the best restaurants in Brighton has a pancake menu and you’re going to Wetherspoons?!!! :stop:
