Recommend me some road tyres

Hi!

The puncture fairy is becoming too regular a visitor and I want her gone! I know nothing about road tyres so please could you recommend me some good ones. I want light-ish but also a little more resilient to punctures. I have NO idea how much they cost but I suspect I’m on the budget end rather than the fancy end! Thank you in advance!

Vittoria Rubino pro are my go to. Depending on the width and spec, around £30-40 I think.

Ok so if not disc brake? unlikely to take a 30mm.
Hopefully be able to find the 25mm somewhere.

Unfortunately there's no perfect tyre, light and puncture resistant at the same time. There's always going to be a compromise.

"clinchers" are what you expect tyres to be and are the normal.
I think the name crept in to distinguish between "tubular" tyres, which had to be glued on.

When commuting to work I ran continental super sports tyres with very few issues ,
Are your punctures being caused by a penetrating object thorn etc ,which will leave a single whole or a snake bit puncture which leaves 2 holes which is normally caused by running at too low a pressure . Is it the same wheel or both ? , if they are your original tyres once worn down you get less puncture protection I suspect any reasonable tyre will be an improvement

Both tyres (on the same day) and I’ve generally found tiny stones in them. I think they prob are the originals which are nearly 9 years old (although I don’t ride this bike all year round). I haven’t replaced them but the bike got a massive overhaul last summer after an accident so I’m not entirely sure they aren’t new…but I’m 99% sure they’re the originals.
