Same stuff, but it's been through the washer and dried overnight ;)

No high vis - just bright clothing - don't like this fashion for black tops....

I'm an old die hard roadie, so a hi viz jacket just doesn't do it..... my waterproof is bright red for the commute !! - Bright Blue for the roadie (pocket sized cape).........

I used to use a dayglo yellow race jersey, but they are impossible to get now - just the vests.

The problem isn't being seen, but instead being cared about. Those who don't look won't see us anyway, even if we happened to be a double decker red London bus.

No doubt.

More to it though.not everybodies eyesight out there is perfect.a few years ago i was in a friends car (he was 70 years old) and he drove up the pavement in the middle of the road.he asked me what it was and i told him he had driven up the pavement.i realised his night vision wasnt all that.whether he is still driving is another matter.the Gran Canaria incident was the same basics but when i heard the car accelerate i realised i was in danger.

Rode into day without the hiz viz and got the same woman honking and flashing her lights at me on the same bit of road.

I am glad it's not my vest.

A cyclist with a helmet and high-viz vest looks like a "cyclist" to people in cars - another vehicle to contend with on our congested roads.

However, a cyclist with no vest and no helmet simply looks like a person on a bicycle - someone to watch out for "see how fragile they are".

It's backed up by a British Medical Journal study that tested how close cars approached a cyclist with or without a helmet.
