Woohoo, I received a cheque for £285 from nPower after I changed over to Southern Electric! Why didn't they reduce my monthly payments before? Think of the interest they've got if they did that to all their customers?

I know it's very nice to get the cheque but I'd much rather have had £20 off my direct debit every month.

Very nice. I had my gas and electric statements recently. The gas was in credit by about £150 so they are reducing the payments by about £5 per month. The electric is in debit by about the sane so they are increasing the payments by £25 per month !

Enjoy your windfall, nice time of year for that to land.

They tried to up my Electricity DD's from £30 (which was correct over the year) to £60.

I tried searching their website for a means to correct this obvious error - you would have thought that "frequent Q & A's" would be an obvious starting point - but no luck. Left an email - but no reply.

Having switched supplier I got a call from npower saying I should have phoned them. I did ask what was the point of having a website etc etc if I have to phone through to get anything done.

The all try this scam. They rig DDs to mean you have the money already in their bank by the time the bill comes along. It is set to pre-pay not spread the cost as we would think it should.

You get nowhere with them if you complain and BT get fed up if you phone their automatic line and re-set your dd! So now I am off DDs and they take the quarterly bill out of my bank only when it is due. Better I have it than them.

Funny that, I got my £53 back for overcharging from N-Power, and I've moved to Scottish Power - saving about £40 per month on fuel costs, oh and just had a £250 cheque back too from N-Power for being in credit..... robbing lot.

I left it in credit until I was ready to shift, and got my £53 overcharging back - bet they have lost a stack of customers.
