Regrets, I've got one

So had a really nice cycle in to work today. Received early warning that Shooters Hill Road was closed so set off through Greenwich Park instead. A much prettier and faster route although slightly longer than going down the Old Kent Road.

All in all, a great ride to work until I got to Waterloo. Went down the side of the bus garage, waited for the green light and set off. Cyclist came from Lower Marsh onto the Cut straight across the front of me. "F@@@@@' C;'''" said I. "F@@@ off" said he. Now why oh why didn't I just chase him along the Cut and beat his head against Southwark tube station repeatedly. The moment is lost now and it may ruin my day.

Unfortunately this year it appears the most likely candidate for a collision is another cyclist, lots more about and a complete lack of common sense and/or respect for other road users.

Strangely the guy I rowed with looked a lot like him but I'd say a bit younger.

An odd route ?

You ride from Welling (sea level) to Shooters Hill (150m), one assumes over Blackheath (75m) to go down to Greenwich (Sea Level) and then onto the Old Kent Road to get to Waterloo.
Personally I'd have followed the river the whole way, Welling , Woolwich, Charlton, Greenwich, Deptford, Rothehithe, Bermondsy, Waterloo

If you look on map though, my route is as close to a straight line as you can get I think.

There's a couple of nasty little hills between Welling and Woolwich too from where I live. And Shooters Hill is guaranteed to wake you up in a morning
