Relaxed road bike?

A friend has asked me the bikes to look at for a more relaxed geometry. He has up to 1500 euros to spend and would like a decent spec. I said the Giant Defy range? and perhaps the Cube Agree? Other than that I don't really know. He is not sure about going the carbon route or aluminium. Again, I can't advise as I have only ever ridden aluminium Any thought?

I can thoroughly recommend the Secteur. I have a Secteur Comp which has been serving me well for three years!

Thanks all for your advice on behalf of my friend. He has tried several of the above and his two preferred are the Spec. Secteur and the Giant Defy Composite. I don't know the specs of his preferred choices though. He is waiting to try the Cube Agree before making a decision, mainly because I keep asking him to try one because I am looking at the same for next year. I"ll keep you posted.
