Remember the cretins' fine words?

I may be overstepping the mark .... but remember all the fine words the current crop of cretins in Whitehall came out with in response to The Times' campaign about cyclists' safety?

Concern? Understanding? Money to be spent?

So why should I be in any way surprised that all the stuff about cycling safety (remember that phrase "ride at least 1 metre from the kerb or in the middle of the lane"?) has all apparently disappeared?

https://www.gov.uk/browse/driving - there's
- absolutely sweet FA about cycling/cyclist safety!
- "Sorry, but there are no results for 'Bikeability'"

Wow - talk about showing true colours. B*st*rds.

Don't forget who actually funds Bikeability - the DfT.

To be fair, they're only part way through the transfer of information to the new site.
There's no "to be fair" about it. God knows, I ain't no professional in the field, and wouldn't pretend to be.

But this?
"GOV.UK, launched on 17 October 2012, is the new website that will bring most of the information published by government online in one place and will become the starting point for all government digital services. Its aim is to be “simpler, clearer and faster” for users."

Combined with
- disinformation
"People looking for business and citizen information and services on these sites are now redirected to the new GOV.UK site. Where people have bookmarked links on Directgov and Business Link, these will be automatically redirected to the relevant page on GOV.UK." That's a joke.
- procrastination and obfuscation
"The second phase ... ‘corporate’ and policy information will move over by 31 March 2013, and the process will be finished by December 2013." And this is October 2012?
"The third phase ... will be complete by March 2014."

Plot lost.

Hmmm - second thoughts, I'd dearly love to know what the plot really is.
