I dug out for a pond today and inadvertently resurrected Kickstart, Ambrose and Bigcat, I thought that they were much further up the garden. My daughter is beside herself, she wants them back "as they were"..... but the bones are all muddled up now. Poor Kickstart she'd been resurrected by foxes twice before and now this, she'd been through a lot whilst alive too.

This day is going to get worse when Mrs F comes home, that's for sure......

Oh dear. You should have just said nothing and chucked the bones back in the hole.

My brother buried a gerbil inside a flora tub, which he then hermetically sealed with selotape.
My mum dug the tub up whilst doing some gardening, and chucked it in the bin, she didnt dare open the box!

I dread digging anywhere in my garden, there are 6 cats and a dog somewhere down there, and I don't know exactly the position of them.

Reminds me of the old house we had when I was young, there are some potato chip tins I would have no wish to see the contents of, buried beneath a linden tree. Siamese cats, mainly I think the dog was cremated and the ashes kept by my father, though I couldn't find them when he passed.

When my friend's pet turtle died, she didn't want to bury it in the garden as it's a rented house and she didn't want to move somewhere else and leave him behind so she bought the biggest flower pot she could find and buried it at the bottom and planted a rose bush on top so Adrian can go wherever she goes.

Oh blimey.
My late Saluki is buried in the garden and he has a willow tree over the top of him so I know where I planted him. My Dad always planted things over the pet graves to ensure that they didn't get accidentally dug up.

Oh dear. How long does it take for a cat to turn to bones? The patch where my Daisy Cat was buried 2 years ago is coverd with weeds. I want to give it a good dig over and plant a Hydranga there, but I'm scared.
Don't mind finding bones, but if theres still fur and skin I'll cry for weeks.

I don't know exactly, I didn't check regularly, Kickstart was the last to be interred and I reckon she's been gone 5 years, just bones.

My childhood home's garden had a number of buried rats, cats, and even goats.

The planning officer said my parents would never get permission to develop the back garden so they sold the place, much to my regret.

Six months after they moved out the new owners had got planning consent to build a bungalow in the garden. I hope the disturbed goats haunt them (and the planning officer) every night.

Upwards of 10 years, depending on the soil.
