I finally have got round to taking some pics of my new tourer

Taken in my rather tatty and crowded back room so please excuse the mess!

Looks great .
Would suit me as a commuter that could double as a tourer.
How good are the brakes?

That's what I bought it for, commuting, day to day riding and eventually touring. I have got something like £120 worth of extras on the way to get it set up to my liking (panniers, bottle cages, d-lock, SPD pedals), I am going to be seriously skint by the end of the week!

I feel the brakes are quite good for stopping, they do requite a bit of fiddling to get them centred though and I have managed to bugger up the barrel adjuster on the front brake doing so! Just see my thread in the "know how" section for details. I just can't help fiddling though so I usually end up breaking things often

Looking tasty. I'm looking at getting one of these towards the end of the year as my proper 'do-it-all' and 'hopefully tour' bike. I gave one a test ride a few months ago and was pleased.

Just not a big fan of the top brake levers though. That's precious lighting space taken up!

I don't mind the brake levers, there is space either side of the stem to fit lights and a speedo can fit onto the stem if it has a suitable mount. I am sure that I can figure out a more unconventional position for lights if space gets a little tight.
