These three all look like good value but I am torn between which one to go for

Like the look of all three but have only seen the Giant in the flesh and it looked very nice. Don't know anything about Campagnola so thats putting me off the Ribble a little, downside to the Giant is it has Tiagra not Ultegra like the Planet X.

Any views on the three and in which order would you put them if you were buying?

No experience of the other two, but I have the Ribble (with the wheel upgrade) and I cannot fault it. Really responsive and quick, climbs well too.

Don't be put off by the Campagnolo components. They are quality, and IMO better designed than Shimano equivalents.

The giant hands down IMO as the frame is what really counts. When the cassette and crank set wear out you can upgrade them if you want better. The same goes for the wheels and other components so on that biases I would go for the giant.

I do own a defy one so I maybe a little bias.

Planet X (best equipped IMO)

Ribble (Group-set not as good as Ultegra IMO)

Giant ( if it had the Ultegra group-set it would be a difficult choice between this & PX)

Vamp... Thanks I am tempted by the ribble can you tell me why you prefer the Campag?

Shift quality is nicer.

I prefer the shifter shape.

It is a comparable weight to the Ultegra, in fact on my bike with different brakes, it sits between Ultegra and Dura-Ace for weight.

It looks much, much better, especially with the carbon chainset and shifters.

Ultegra is a very good groupset. But I like Centaur more.

More importantly than the groupset perhaps, the wheels on the Ribble bike are significantly better than the PX. And better looking ;)
