Not sure if anyone else has found this site. Only started on the first of March. Nobody in Peterborough yet. Could be a good way of getting new people out on CC rides and onto the forum.

I don't see the point of people on CC going to a different site to organise rides with people from CC! As for getting more people to come here - just send them a link!

So far, I've managed to keep away from Facebook and the only way that I'm going to sign up there is if someone can convince me that I can earn £100+ a week from any time I'd spend there!

I agree FB causes nothing but trouble in my house and like you have avoided it.

The link's been amended so you can go straight to the site - do not pass facebook or collect £100. I just searched for local riders around here and found 20 within 5 miles so it could make for some company.

I must confess that I didn't look too closely - I saw mention of registering using Facebook and gave up!

I'm doing okay using CC to find 'ride buddies' - 80-plus and counting so I don't need to use another site, but I suppose it could be handy for someone who doesn't have many CycleChat members in their area.

I stuck up a link on bike radar, which I managed to get stickied here - http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40052&t=12736730 . It's just a simple googledocs spreadsheet and it was conceived as an aid to new commuters still nervous or uncertain of their route into town. But I suppose it could easily have been set up as a collective resource for leisure riding as well as commuting.

It would be pretty simple to stick a form on the front of it (I imagine, as I've never done it on googledocs) and expand the type of riding to include training and leisure rides. I'd be happy to give it an evolutionary nudge and if anybody has any ideas please feel free to make suggestions....

But perhaps it would be treading on other more competent people's toes, I simply don't know.

I know, always wondered why because you don't have to put your exact location. Might be something to do with the digital / facebook age where people like to be anonymous and then find it easier to say things they wouldn't face to face. I could also be talking absolute tripe.
