Does anyone have any experience of this model? I am a fairly new cyclist and bought Ridgeback World Voyage last year which I really like. But now I feel the need for something lighter and sportier. I am really attracted to the 3 ring chainset and the additional brake levers, both of which I have become used to on my touring bike. The list is £900, but they are discounted to £800 and a 2013 model can be had for £700 - anyone know the difference between 2013/14 models?

The one you've linked to as the 2014 model is identical to THIS one that is quoted as a 2013. If the bike was launched last year and is still in production this would explain it, (they may also have no plans to change the model at all until maybe next year).

So the reason for the price difference is the Ridgeback link you've used will be quoting RRP, whereas there's always deals to be had online, and also very often with LBS's too.

Find a stockist and give one a go, is you like it see if they'll do you a deal.

Yep, that is the £700 deal I was thinking about. If the only difference between 2013/14 is the year of production,I am certainly happy to buy an older new bike. Unfortunately the a Ridgeback dealer locater isn't working so I don't know where my local stockist might be. I might go with my gut and just buy it, I bought the tourer over the internet and I am very happy with it.

I am so annoyed. I spent the extra £100 because Bliss Bikes advertise "When buying a bicycle from Bliss Bikes, we will assemble and test the bicycle prior to packing the bicycle securely. When you receive your bicycle, there will be a small amount of assembly required, following the included guide. This should take no more than 5 minutes. We always advise a qualified bicycle mechanic checks over the cycle briefly before riding."

They did fark all. It took 3 hours. I am glad I am handy with a spanner.

Hmmm, it does look tilted back in the photo, but it didn't feel like it. I will have to check it out tomorrow before I head off to watch TDF stage 1. Thanks for pointing it out

Lucky for you then. Next time ask more questions first! To be honest if your handy with spanners I don't know why you wouldn't get the cheapest possible deal and do it yourself!
