Rim Tape?

Bought a shimano 500 wheelset today from lbs. Does below front wheel need rim tape on?

£110 for the set from spa cycles harrogate. I knew that planetx were ridiculously cheap but I wasn't prepared to wait for delivery. I ride every day

Fair enough, I'm rubbish at waiting for stuff too.

Good thing about those plastic insert "rim tape" loops is that if you need to remove a spoke access is more tidy. With the old sticky stuff it can get a little messy.
