Who, you might say. He was the guy that wrote that famous calipso song Day-O, otherwise known as the banana boat song. He was 95. It would always come on Family Favourites plus many other radio shows in the fifties, sixties and seventies and I loved it. Sung by Harry Belafonte.

Writing most of the 1st album to sell 1M in the US says all you need to know about the guy given it was 1956 and the singer is black.
So many great songs with Belafonte fronting them he was well on the way to hit after hit.
