Probably good. According to some of the obituaries, the popularity of their version gave her royalties an unexpected boost.

Very sad. I'd be around 13 when Brand New Key was released and loved it, such a unique voice. Music means so much when you first get tuned into it ( pardon the pun ), it's like a whole new world is opening up to you.

When I was a child I thought the key was a house key and I couldn’t for the life of me work out the connection between Melanie’s roller skates and the boy’s house key.
