Riding on my commute I went for a drink, when it came to put my bottle back into the cage I missed and the bottle fell onto the road. So I stopped to go and retreive it whilst it was still in tact. But then some wally in an estate car ran it over  , so now I have to get a replacement bottle, thank goodness it wasn't anything expensive.

I've yet to pick mine up mid-ride. Annoyingly I forgot to fill mine for the ride home.

I've been using the Foska ones. They dont sit quite as tight in the caddy. The best ones I've found are the Hope ones, they dont smell funny either and are about a fiver for a 750ml one, £3 for 500ml in one of the LBSs..

I keep on collecting them at a regular rate - children picked up two more at the Sky Ride yesterday. You just need to turn up to some cycling events and then you will be given some for free.

I turned up to the Riverside Park event down here last month and they didnt have any.

Best place to pickup bottles I'm told is the Tours. The pros chuck em and people collect them.B)

I dropped my Camelbak bottle on the Manchester to Blackpool ride, the only problem was I was doing about 25mph and had loads of riders behind me so there was no chance to stop and go get it

FYI: The SIS 800ml ones are the same as the Hope 750ml but cost around £3 each. As said they're very good bottles & don't smell or taint the water when it gets warm.
