My Mum and my Dad cycle a lot but they are now going to be doing LEJOG with me next June. I have found a nice bike for my Dad (Steel Viner, Campag veloce) in his size with eveything he wanted within his budget but I got lucky as it was 50% off at a local bike shop so only came in at 700.

I now need to find my Mum one as she is riding a 56cm (carrera vanquish) and she should be on a 52cm but she just always road my Dads bikes so didn't think anything of it.

She is looking for a steel bike (either steel or carbon forks), good level groupset (any campag or shimano tiagra or higher). It must be able to take mudguards and pannier is a bonus but isn't necessary. New or used doesn't matter but she want sti type shifters so nothing too old.

Budget is £800

You might get a Dawes century SE for that money (I paid £725 for my 2011 model, full Tiagra) or how about a Genesis Equlibrium?

How cool is that - mum & dad doing LEJOG.

Enjoy:thumbsup:

My dad mentioned doing something similar with me-not took him seriously though.

Indeed I do - a 58cm ... but, as I'm 6' 3", it's probably a wee bit on the large side ! ^_^

It's a Condor Fratello, with SRAM Black, mudguards (full size), pannier rack fittings etc. Comfortable ride (even over Edinburgh's cobble stones  ), quick enough for me and a great favourite among the Audax fraternity.

Condor can make it to your own spec, so have a play on their site, talk to them and best of luck !
