Tl;dr
is it possible to get fairly nice road bike for that price? Id want one with STI shimano shifters.
Longer version:
Ive been looking for something that would make me fit and be usefull in daily stuff so i dropped off gym and the only thing left is a road bike. In my past ive been cycling alot on my mountain bike tough i always loved how those big roadies looked like and always wanted to ride one. Now it's time i could afford one and im trying to find something that would appeal to me.
Im looking for a roadie that will put me back in cycling life thus the need of sti shifters (ive seen alot with standard ones, yuck) im planning on doing first 20mile courses then step up and be able to do at least 60mile course in around a month or two (if even possible) Im in rather nice condition if it's about doing miles on my foot since im working in a warehouse i do walk and do other stuff that require some stamina for the most of time thus legs shouldnt be a big issue with hitting 20 miles in day 1 i suppose.
Now to come by my question, is there really any roadie in that price tag with sti shifters? Are they really so neccessary for proper road bike?
Thanks.
Small heads up: when i used to cycle in my youngs i was doing both long distances with alot of climbing
