Road conditions around Cannock Chase

Hi,

Seems we are having a bit of a thaw and the temps are in the positive numbers, so Im looking to be getting the secteur out and putting the Crud guards to the rest.

I thought I might put it in the back of the car and take it for a spin around cannock chase (The roads, not the dog or monkey trails!).

Has anyone been over there in the last day and can give me an idea of the road conditions please? (As in, clear enough to ride a road bike on)

At work the roads were fine but the pavements were covered in black ice. It was more dangerous getting out of the car then driving it.

You've just made me almost homesick..............

We moved over from Hednesford, and lived literally a 1min cycle ride from the Chase. I spent hours riding in the Chase and still reminisce about it now, after over 10 years away.

In fact the missus said to me, only a couple of days ago, did I wish I was back there. My reply was that I would like to move the Chase over here.

Enjoy, it is to me the most perfect spot in the UK.
