Thank you for this thread. You have just reminded me I passed a clearly dead squirrel on a downhill stretch on my commute yesterday. Hopefully I will remember exactly where it is for todays trip. I don't want to collide with it!

We animal bone specialists tend to want specimens for reference material and our discussion board featured a question recently from someone needing to set up a collection, and asking how to get specimens. One person from the States told how she'd pissed off some local kids by refusing to let them shoot birds on her property. So they'd taken to leaving dead cats in her front yard. She was delighted, got loads of specimens, and they never did 'gross her out' like they were trying to...

Seems every year I come across a rabbit with Mixxy. Kinder to despatch the poor sods. Look around, find a decent stick, quick STRONG blow upwards to the rear of the base of the neck

Yep, we have mixie rabbits around here as well. See plenty floating in the canal all bloated and 'orrible.

very nearly collected a squirrel this morning, stepped out between two parked cars without so much as a look, fortunately for the squirrel it was my first hill early in my journey and it scurried off

I think it was a squirrel, it was bloody quick
