Rochdale Wheelers Road Club

Well,

the time has come, I'm thinking of becoming a proper roadie. It's crept up on me and the bug has bitten.

So,

I'm looking to join a club and like the look of the Rochdale Wheelers. The fact that I'm attempting to do SITD 200 km, might have persuaded me. Is there any of you guys on here? or anyone ridden with them or anything to say about them.
I must say, I do like the club kit, all nice and red, matches my new bike.

I've never heard of Rochdale Wheelers - do you actually mean the West Pennine Road Club?

And do you mean the North West Passage 200 since there isn't a SITD 200?

I got chatting to one of the West Pennine chaps on one of the North West Passage rides and he seemed a nice fella.

They are both on this Saturday - the full NWP sets off at 08:00 and the mini-NWP an hour later from the same pub - the Spring Inn, SE Rochdale.

If you ride to the pub and back and do the full NWP, you are going to end up doing your longest ride ever I should think - well over 150 miles!

I thought the club kit was a kind of golden colour with green bits - perhaps they changed it. I prefer the red!

i've seen 'em out a few times and spent some time riding along with them- seem like a nice bunch. Thought about joining them myself.
