Get up early [about 6am and go for a walk through the streets before everyone's up and about... from the Forum ruins to Piazza Navona, it's fantastic watching the city come alive and how quickly the bustle erupts. Magical place. Vern's right about the Parthenon... I waited to see it for years and it still took my breath away... the single clear span of the Roman concrete dome is spectacular.
