Hi all,
i hope somebody can advise me on which roof bars to buy. I have a company car which i change every 2 years so i want to buy some roof bars which would fit a varying range of cars, any advice would be welcome. At the moment i'm driving a Hyundai i40 tourer.

Thanks in advance.

I have something similar to this which fits on my A4 estate.

The car has roof rails that run along the length of the roof and these then fitted onto them. I have a Thule 591 carrier attached to that.

Thule Aero bars, if budget allows the sliding bar version are great for loading bikes, without have to cover strain yourself or stand on steps.

Thule will probably have a bigger range than others, and their system is modular - bars, feet and fitting kits. Buying a new fitting kit is usually all that's needed when you change car.

Spares availability and customer service is excellent too

I'd recommend http://www.roofracks.co.uk - they offer free key matching, so you end up with one key for everything.

I have the thule 591 bars on my saloon and they are the mutts nuts. Drive on the motorway at 80mph with no issues (the bike is still there!)

Thanks everybody for your help,
i think i'm gonna go for the Cruz bars, if they are compatable with the £20 Halfords Bike Carriers, happy days.
Can you tell i'm half Yorkshire half Scot.

Rik.
