Rose Points...how do they work?

Does anyone here know (or understand) how Rose Cycles points scheme works?

You seem to get 2 points for each £/€ that you spend but it is unclear how you redeem them.

If I buy something for £30 and have points to the value of £40, am I left with the remaining points? Can I buy something for £50 and put the extra £10 to the purchase? Does the points redemption come off the total sale price including shipping costs or just the goods?

I've used them, but can't remember exactly how they work! I think you need enough points to cover the full cost of the item - I don't think you can use them as part payment. When you put the item in the shopping basket it shows both the cost in £ and the points required. If I remember correctly you can't use them for carriage charges.
