Not sure if this is the right forum so please move if I'm wrong.

I wanted to ask the those on the forum that have ridden London or Croydon to Brighton what your favourite routes are and why please :biggrin:

Hi Leo,

The BHF L2B comes down through Carshalton, Chipstead, Merstham, Nutfield, Outwood, Copthorne, turners Hill, Ardingly, Ditchling, Coldean, and Brighton - it's a nice ride....others no doubt will have alternatives...From Clapham to Brighton in 2006, I did 3hrs 45 mins..:biggrin:

Cool, thanks Simon. I'd actually thought about those routes, but as they're planned to be ridden over night, I was wondering if they would be suitable for a day ride? What do you think of this one for during the day?

Good for daytime as well as night,. The trick with the FNRttC route is the 'Haroldslea Manoeuvre'. It involves wallabies and peacocks in trees. Look for a left turn off the Balcombe Road just south of Horley

<fx: Looks at link, grins>

Wahay, someone is using the routes I put up on Bikely. My life isn't entirely worthless after all. :sad:

It's probably a bit late (!) but there is also the June one (which Simon mentions)

June 2008 FNRttC

...and November (which I missplet as FRNttC!)

November 2008 FNRttC

This does mean that my route from Croydon involves cycling to Hyde Park Corner first, and then turning around and cycling back, past Croydon!
