route calculators

Does anyone know of any route calculator web sites.

i dont have a cycle computer but would be interested in finding out how far i cycle in a trip.

any ideas?

I've just discovered http://www.mapitpronto.com, which is really good.

Google maps addition. You can goto any postcode etc easily, you can specify it to follow roads (though you can change and change back halfway throguh your route. It will give you your total ascent and descent as well (which I like).

|If it's just distance on roads though, (stating the obvious warning) you can do a google maps directions, and then drag the route around to suit.

Someone here recommended www.bikehike.co.uk it has elevation as well as OS output which I personally find very useful. I think it's fantastic.

I quite like the ruler function of "Google Earth". Time consuming but it allows you to plot the actual route you took and not any prescribed route.
