hi there i am looking for good traffic free routes not to rough for a recumbent trike and two mountain bikers around the midlands any ideas? or can anybody recomend a book with traffic free routes.

look up Leicestershire county council cycle routes on web it is a leaflet but shows a few not all traffic free but 2 that spring to mind that are - Brampton Valley way and Rutland water. I am in Leicester if you want a triking partner for rides. a lot of the sustrans routes are traffic free or on very quiet roads as well

We do the following;
Cloud trail; Worthington to Derby/Elvaston Castle. Then on to the Nutbrook Trail up to Shipley Park.
Tissington Trail; Ashbourne
High Peak trail; Middleton Top car park up to Parsley Hay.
Derwent Water; all the way round the resevoir.
All these are mainly off road and done with trikes; delta and tadpole.
