Just came back from a nice ride and noticed that the rubber hood on my right brifter has pulled away at the top. I have pulled it back the best I can but its clearly deformed somehow. Any ideas what can do this? It hasnt been exposed to much direct sunlight or excessive heat (not quite sure if those would affect it). Just locked in a shed when not in use.

There is usually a stud which the rubber presses into to hold it in place.
If you roll the hood back you'll see at least one small rectangular block in the hood and a corresponding depression in the body of the brifter. You just need to get these lined up properly when rolling the hood back down.
