Not at me, on the floor, these exuses for human beings that think it's ok to litter, apple cores, mc donalds meals, fag butts you name it. If I get one on camera who can it be sent to?. Anyone else seen rubbish thrown from cars?, it's disgusting just like irresponsible dog owners who don't clean up their dog mess.

I read this today funnily enough: http://www.dailymail...ce-80-fine.html

I think that if an apple core or the like is thrown into a hedge then all is well. Anything that is not biodegradable and left in plain sight is a disgrace.

Many many years ago in a traffic jam in Newquay with Jonny Sims, the car in front chucked half a chip packet out the window, Jonny leapt out of his car , picked it up and chucked it back through their window much to the shock of the occupants bellowing : 'you don't have to live here ... we do'!

I have seen much the same thing done with a parked car emptying the ashtray  Happy days

Your local authority should have a fly tippiing officer whose remit also covers litter. It's normally the district council (here it's East Cambs) or unitary authority if you live in one of those- (don't know whether Dartford is unitary now, or still part of an ever diminishing county of Kent?). Anyway, just Google 'Dartford fly tipping report' and that ought to show it. Sadly though, the costs of bringing about a prosecution are often too prohibitive for local authorities resulting in a very low rate of prosecutions.

Litter and fly tipping are real problems hereabouts too. Lots of isolated spots on the fens and quiet lanes make it a litter louts paradise. I'd love to catch one of the bar stewards at it. I have a litter picker thing (you can get these off your LA too) and regularly clear the verges between my village and the next. It's quite staggering the amount of sh*te people lob out of their snotbuckets. I won't let them win though and will continue the fight!

It's got to be zero tolerance. Allowing biodegradable items then opens the debate about what constitutes biodegradable and the whole issue becomes blurred 'allowing' a whole range of items being jettisoned.

Litter is litter.

What's wrong with disposing of it correctly?

I borrow my mums car and she is, lets put it politely, absent minded. I regularly find banana skins, or apple cores in the door pockets. If I can find a layby with a bin I will use it otherwise I will wait for a hedge and throw said items out of passanger window. I would never do in the street or even onto the road. The way I see it is if it is food stuff only (ie not food in a wrapper, container etc) then there is no harm in doing so. Anything else is a no-no.

I'm not too bothered with apples cores or banana skins but empty fast food packaging riles me.

quite often do with fruit, but an apple core won't be there in 24 hours once the animals have gotten to it. Stuff thats bad for them or that won't break down very quickly shouldn't be thrown imo

Why do smokers assume it's ok to stub out there cigarettes on the floor and just leave them there?, thats what angers me, littering's littering simple as, I have never dropped a piece of litter in my life, I was brought up taught right from wrong, politeness, respect, caring for the environment etc etc, why's that gone?. These people expect someone else to clean up after themselves, a selfish society.

Yet when it comes to their own homes there normally clean and tidy, not on my doorstep please. Saying that I witnessed from below a flat an occupant drop rubbish from their window onto the floor below so they actually do crap on their doorsteps!. Litterers should be punished by having the contents of bin lorrys emptied into their homes and have to live in it!!!. DISGUSTING CREATURES!

Have a look at this then:

Is two years fast enough for you?

Throwing anything out of cars is slovenly and unjustifiable.

If you want to to have your waste biodegrade, buy a compost bin and put your waste in it.

I live near a pub, and a couple of years ago I watched as a guy parked up opposite my house, took the remains of a McDonalds meal and placed them on the pavement before heading off into the pub.

Oh I was angry, so I went out, tipped the last of his coke over the roof, and smeared the greasy wrappers all over his windows, pushing the chips into the grills at the top of the bonnet before stuffing all the rubbish under his windscreen wipers. It was dark by the time he came out of the pub, and I didn't see what happened. Of course the following morning the rubbish was all over the road, but I suspect he got the message.
