there's an app' for iphone called 'cyclemeter' - not sure if it's on android too. it's free and has a lot of decent features but i'm a bit dubious as to it's accuracy - last week it logged my top speed on my way home from work @ almost 49mph! i had to giggle when i saw that

I used it for a while earlier this year, but the gps usage really does cane my battery, so I stopped and went back to my old Garmin instead - at least that way I can still phone home if I flatten the battery on my gps while I'm out

I have Runkeeper on my iPhone 4 - rarely use it for the 'commute' (its only a 2 miler), but I run with it all the time and use it to keep track of my other fitness activities (swimming, non-commute cycling). I find it quite fun & motivational with all the stats (I am a sucker for numbers).

As for battery usage I used it on a 5 hour casual ride and I still had plenty of battery left when I got home...

imapmyrun is a good app, well, it's not bad. Anyone tried it? I wish you could program it to stop when you reach a certain place, so I don't have to stop and get it out my bag etc
