Mrs rb58 is planning a new garden feature and is in need of a vintage bike to form part of it. So, does anyone have something lurking behind the shed/garage/barn that might be suitable? Obviously, condition is of no importance but I'd prefer something that is well gone otherwise I'd be tempted to restore it. Distressed would be good. Damaged frame, non-working definitely beyond repair even better. She has suggested something like a butchers bike (she'll be lucky), or an old step through ladies bike, rod brakes etc. I think we're talking 1940s era or earlier. Will need to be within reasonable travelling distance of London for collection. And I'm not prepared to pay a fortune as it'll be left to decay gently in amongst the flowers.

What have you?

And before you say anything, no she can't use the Enigma.

Cheers

I got an old MTB of a Well Known Auction Site for a pound that would probably fit the bill.
I'm not especially near Bexley though...

Thanks Doc. She's checked that Well Known Auction site, but is really looking for something with considerably more classic lines than a MTB.

Does your local recycling centre have a bit for bikes. When I disposed of one of my old bikes I noticed a lovely old style racer sitting there. Might be worth a look. Not sure if you would have to sneak it away though as I'm not sure if they would want people taking them?
