hi all,
i have been reading about these lately and while the acronym is new the idea is not. i fancy doing some more of these but as it is winter going to do it b&b style. maybe the lakes, as the thought of a log fire at the end of a cold winters ride seems nice. but there is always blackpool for the ridiculously cheap b&b's. anyone else fancy it?

i have done them before when i was younger and i know a few on here have done them over the summer. it is a bit cold to start camping out for the first time in years, so i just going to b&b it. something like a 80ish miles then a nice night having a few glasses in a country pub with a log fire. get up have breakfast come home. i'm pretty lucky where i live. that sort of distance takes me to some pretty nice places.

I don't understand: you set off at 9am on Saturday morning and you're meant to be back before 9 am on Sunday morning??? Why not make a weekend of it?

no not for me. but i see what you mean, i think that the s24o is more for the quick week day sunny excersions.

I do lots and love them, even before I knew what they were called.

Finish work, then get off the bike and ride until dark. Sleep well. Ride home.

The format doesn't really fit into such short days, IMO.
