Although no longer a recumbent rider I was appalled to turn on the TV just now and catch a bit of Saved and Repaired on BBC1.

They are cutting up a recumbent trike to make a chair out of it

I didn't catch the make before the lowlife presenter got at it with the angle grinder, but it looked a decent bit of kit with disc braked front wheels. If you can bear to watch it it will be on iplayer later. I think I'll ask for my licence fee back.
